Work Wear Wednesday

Today I thought I’d share a work wear post since its been long over due. Living in California has allowed me to wear skirts (without tights) all the way through the end of September with its warm sunny days. While I don’t need the tights, I did add a sweater to make the look an appropriate transition into Fall. I love the deep bordeaux color paired with a few gold touches and accessories.

How are you transition your office attire for Fall?

Casual Pencil Skirt

I love finding versatile pieces, like this skirt. This casual pencil skirt is great for the Summer weekends, but also professional enough for work. Fortunately, I work at a place where the culture is very casual and doesn’t require you to wear slacks or suits everyday. While I would wear this skirt to work, I would never wear this tank top because it’s beyond casual for the office. However, it was the perfect opportunity to mix patterns last weekend in the city.

What versatile pieces are in your closet?

Polka Dots & Linen

As it gets warmer, the less layers I want to pile on. Even tank top layers can be of annoyance. Linen is a great light weight fabric for the Spring and Summer. Plus, it still looks good if it is wrinkled! I picked up this white one a few weeks ago because of its functionality to be worn for both work and casual days.

…Oh and my love for polka dots keeps growing and growing…

Do you own any linen items?

Prabal Gurung for Target

While I enjoy designer brands and admire their collections, I can’t always afford them. That’s why I love when designers make a line that offers items that are within my budget. Better yet, I love when they collaborate with stores such as Target. Recently, designer Prabal Gurung launched a line at Target and fortunately I was able to snag this floral and feminine skirt (most stores are sold out of the collection). I couldn’t pass it up at only $30, what a steal! Plus, it has pockets ladies! To make it more appropriate for the office, I paired it with some tights. I can’t wait to style it differently for the Summer.
